One of the topics dealt with in the last month by the students of the Advanced Education in Periodontology is Osseous Regenerative Surgery.
Prof. Aimetti performed periodontal regeneration of an infraosseous defect in a patient affected by chronic severe periodontitis, previously subjected to etiological therapy.
The students were able to follow the various phases of the intervention from the doctors’ room TV thanks to the video capture system that offers the possibility to create 3D movies through the intraoperative microscope, used by the Professor.
At the end of surgery, Prof. Aimetti and his students discussed the most relevant aspects and possible alternatives regarding the type of incision and filling of the defect.
